Did I offend you?

It is horrible that I keep track of this, but someone unsubscribed to my bloglines. I'm sorry if I bored you to death? Although I'm not particularly surprised.

I found my camera cable so I can provide a little bit of entertainment in that way. So I have finished a few items since last I showed photos.

Finished Sockapalooza socks already received by my pal. They are Tofutsie and a slip stich rib from Sensational Knitted Socks.

I also finished a dishcloth, that I may not have blogged about at all.

And a Daisy sweater, which I think is adorable for a baby just 10 days old.

I also did some frogging. I apparently think I am Shrek sized.

Exhibit A: Second Trekking Sock

The top finished sock is big and slouchy. The bottom sock was loose on C's size 13s and these socks are for me. Frogged and sent to their room without supper. Plan on recuperating with some of this:

I also frogged CeCe which I was really enjoying. I took it off the needles to frog back to fix a mistake and realized that it would fit around a person twice my size. This is even though I swatched and I was spot on. I'm going to try again in a smaller size but I need to do some more swatching.

This time of year is touch because I can't decide whether to squeeze one more summer project in, or to get started on fall. Tough call.

Still no cable

So, no pictures today either. Which sucks, because I actually have stuff to show you.

I've turned the heel and done the gusset decreases on the Trekking socks, which are so autumn it kills me.

I've finished the knitting and seaming on the Daisy sweater, and just need to sew on buttons and mail it off the the baby who is 6 days old.

I've finished knitting the Ballband Dishcloth and it is already in use in my kitchen.

I've finished spinning the BFL from Hello Yarn, and just need to get up the nerve to ply it. I suck at plying.

It's been a little touch and go around here.

My job is extremely demoralizing . . . they are asking us to work harder for significantly less pay (I'm earning about 1/3 of what I was a few months ago) and they are not letting people move to different positions within the company. I can't afford to quit because C still hasn't had any job interviews and we don't know where we will be living so I don't want to look for a new job around here.

We are 12 days a way from when C loses his benefits and gets his severance pay out which is all he will get (besides unemployment) until he gets a new job.

One of C's former coworkers who was laid off with him killed himself, leaving behind a wife and 3 small children. C is taking it hard. It makes me extraordinarily sad, while simultaneously, very grateful for what I have.

I don't have time to go searching for the cable today, or at least right now, because we will be heading down to the New Hope Automotive Show to hopefully distract C and let him have a good time before heading off to the service for his friend tomorrow.

New House, New Job

I know I promised to post with more pictures, but when I went to do it last night, the camera was not in its place. I can only assume the boy took it with him to the new house, where he has been staying and painting this week, but I haven't asked him.

I've just finished the knitting on this.  I chose the same color as the one in this picture, but I didn't do the snakes.

It is for a Carlos' best friend's son, who was baptized this past weekend.

I'm still on the first sock, of my magic stripe socks.

I packed my stash yesterday, and I was amazed by its size.  The Kureyon, the Debbie Bliss, the Koigu. It's not much but it is a lot for me! I have some knitting to do.

Life has been interesting lately. Buying a house is very straining on a relationship. Especially when you are not 100% excited about the locale. A lot of bickering, and a lot of self doubt, but we will be OK.

I got a new job that I start next week. It's a little scary because I've been at my current job since college and I am very comfortable here. I also have to wear suits at the new job, so I have to do some serious shopping. Anyone who has good ideas on where to buy affordable conservative work clothes for someone who is short and small (TJ Maxx, etc. seemed to only have suits in size 8+, I'm 5'4 and a size 4), I'd really appreciate it.

Other than that, I'll take some pictures of the stash, and of the Daisy (after I learn how to raglan seam).  I promise I'll write more often if you folks (and I see that people come here) start commenting!
